Additionally, please be aware that your use of our services are also governed by our Terms of Service, which extends beyond the coverage of this Privacy Policy.

Teal Connect Ltd (“Teal”, “we”,”us”, or ”our”) is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15050936 and has its registered office address at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.Teal provides services (“Services”) that enable you to connect and share your payroll data with other websites or applications (“Third Parties” or “Partners”). You may share this data by connecting your payroll account (“Account(s)”) or sending additional documents. It is always your choice to share this data with us or our partners respectively. Teal never connects to your payroll provider without your explicit consent.

The terms “you” and “your” refers to the user accessing or using Teal or our Services.

When this Policy applies

Our Privacy Policy applies when you visit our website www.goteal.co or otherwise use our services. This may happen in connection with the services of Third Parties (such as banks, credit providers, or mortgage companies) who you use.
These Third Parties may use Teal to conduct Income Checks, in which case we act as Data Processors for Data that is shared with us.

Personal data (or personal information) refers to any information that can identify an individual and does not include data from which identity information has been removed (anonymous data).

This policy specifically applies to your connection with Teal. It doesn't extend to how others handle your data, such as the developers of the third-party apps you use (referred to as "Apps" and "App Providers"). These Apps, App Providers, and Accounts are not part of our Services, and we do not take responsibility for them.

Data We Collect

The data we collect, use, and share depends on the Services you use.  We may collect:

1. Data you provide to us
: When you contact us (via our website, email, or any other means of communication), we collect personal information like your email, name, 'Contact Us' or 'Subscribe' form input, and IP address, as well as any other personal information you share with us directly. If you apply for a job, we collect the information you send us. When using third-party platforms to apply (such as LinkedIn), we may receive additional data. If you connect to Accounts via our Services, we gather identifiers, login details, account info, and data for verification. By providing this data, you grant us permission to act on your behalf and transmit it to access your accounts.

2. Data from your Accounts: When you link your payroll account(s) to Teal, we gather your personal data that is accessible within your Account provided by your account provider. The information may encompass:Income and employment details: payslips, income, job title, employment status, time and attendance. Account owner's information: name, address, email, title, phone number, NI number or other identifiers, date of birth, and contact information.Tax-related data: P45 and P60s, tax withholdings, and other tax documents.Benefits information: benefit selections, insurance choices and costs, deferred compensation, and pension contributions.Other information visible within your Account: Occasionally, your Account may contain additional personal data that we collect

3. Data from the device you use to connect
When utilising the Service, we collect data from your device, encompassing:
a) Location Details: This includes your IP address (which may reveal your approximate location), timezone settings, and device-specific location information.

In order to provide our Service to you, we may receive additional data from our service providers, Partners, or other Third Parties. We only collect this data in conjunction with our services.

Acting as a Processor for Third Parties

We will handle your personal information as a service provider, acting on behalf of Third Parties selected by you (such as mortgage providers or other credit providers), to deliver our Service to you.
This means we will collect specific data from (a) information you provide to our Partners or (b) data you allow us to access on your behalf, to enable our Partners to offer their services to you:
Identity Information: This includes details like your first name, last name, marital status, title, date of birth, gender, and national insurance number.
Contact Information: This covers your residential address, email address, and phone numbers.
Employment and Payroll Information: This encompasses your employer, employment status, pay, bonuses and commissions, benefits, and any deductions, along with other data within your payroll account.

How we use your personal data

Teal only uses your personal data in accordance with the law. The legal basis for using your personal data is mainly part of the following categories:

(a) Consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.
(b) Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
(c) Legal obligation: the processing is necessary for you to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).
(d) Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party, unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests. (This cannot apply if you are a public authority processing data to perform your official tasks.)

Disclosures of personal data

We may share your personal data with the below parties and in accordance with the terms set out in “How we use your data”.
(i) Service providers acting as processors or joint controllers who provide IT and system administration services and provision of application or infrastructure services, such as cloud services.
(ii) Service providers offering Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) tools and model capabilities such as, but not limited to, OpenAI LLC. For the avoidance of doubt, AI is exclusively used for data extraction and processing of the data you agreed to share and never to make automated decisions about said data. AI will not have any impact on the eligibility for products distributed by our partners you may have applied to.
(iii) Professional advisers acting as processors or joint controllers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services.
(iv) HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities acting as processors or joint controllers based in the United Kingdom who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.
(v) Any other competent authorities in order to comply with applicable laws, governmental requests, judicial proceedings, court orders or legal processes.
(vi) Third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or our assets. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy policy.

How we store your data

We store your data on servers situated in the United Kingdom and/ or the European Union (EU). Since we work with third-party providers to provide our Services, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data outside of the United Kingdom and/or the European Union.Whenever such transfers occur, we ensure that your personal information receives the additional protection mandated by the relevant laws. To maintain the simplicity and conciseness of this policy, we haven't detailed the specific circumstances for the application of each protective measure. How long do we keep data
